Born from a chance meeting and built on shared values, HD Supported Living Ltd is a collaboration between two passionate care professionals—Lee Hart and Andrew Denny—who believe in doing things differently.
In 2021, Lee—founder of Hart Support Services—was running late to collect a garage door he’d arranged to buy via Facebook Marketplace. On arrival, he struck up a conversation with the seller, John, who proudly mentioned that his son also ran a care company: The Independence Project. That son was Andrew.
What started as a casual conversation became a meaningful connection. A few months later, fate brought them together again at a Future Opportunities event at Columbus School, where both Lee and Andrew were attending in support of individuals with additional needs. That day, the idea of working together became a reality.
Starting with joint support for a young man named Luke—who is still supported by both teams today—Lee and Andrew quickly discovered they shared more than just a professional interest. They had a common vision for the future of care: one that is inclusive, empowering, and centred around the individual.
As their services continued to support more families and individuals, a recurring question emerged: Where do we go from here? The answer was clear—create something bigger together.
HD Supported Living was founded to bridge a growing gap in the sector: the need for high-quality, person-led supported living that feels like home. Not just somewhere to live—but somewhere to thrive.
We provide safe, supportive shared homes where adults with learning disabilities and/or autism can live more independently, with:
Whether it’s helping someone build life skills, maintain friendships, or access their community, our focus is on creating environments where people feel respected, empowered, and connected.
We’re here to reshape what supported living looks like—placing individuals and their families at the heart of everything we do. By combining Lee’s expertise in personalised support and Andrew’s leadership in structured, inclusive day services, we’ve built a model that balances freedom with safety, choice with consistency, and care with community.
